Brief Description of the Golf Course and/or Club

Links, this links-style course was built alongside the Atlantic Ocean, so the wind can sometimes be a major factor.  Built in 1927, 'The Links' is unique to the Northeast with its authentic Scottish links design by Wayne Stiles and John Van Kleek.  Garrett Gill and George B. Williams redesigned this course in the early 1990's. Brigantine's history is intertwined with the famed Scottish Links courses of old.  Local legend suggests the "Old Pros" such as Walter Hagen and Harry Vardon played in Brigantine before setting sail for the British Open.

True to its historic Scottish roots, this seaside layout includes breathtaking bay views, native marshes, and gently rolling nearly treeless terrain. With prevailing sea breezes, berms, moundings, tidal water hazards and newly renovated bunkers, this scenic par 72 course provides an exciting & ever-changing experience for all skill levels. With the combination of its coastal location, modern day amenities, & historic grandeur, The Links at Brigantine Beach offers a wonderful golf experience.

History of the Golf Facility

Brigantine's history is intertwined with the famed Scottish links courses of old.  Local legend suggests that "Old Pros" from the 1920s practiced at Brigantine before sailing for the British Open.

Known as Brigantine Country Club for 60+ years, in 1989 the property was purchased and the name was then changed to Brigantine Golf Links.  The new owner then renovated all the fairways, finished the cart paths, and built a new clubhouse, among other things.  In July of 2002, the property was sold to the City of Brigantine, who hired Meadowbrook Golf, Inc. to manage the property, and then came the current name, The Links at Brigantine Beach.
